The show is an exciting, hilarious and touching work from renowned playwright John Godber and follows the developing relationship between two recently bereaved characters who are lonely, isolated and a little bit lost without their life partners.

Don is an ex-miner working as a hospital porter while Carol is a former teacher with an interest in art. They are as different as chalk and cheese, but, discovering a shared interest in cycling, they decide on a whim, to cycle to Florence, Italy on a tandem. As their journey progresses, their care for each other grows and their bond endures well beyond their trip.

The action takes place between 2016 and the present and the duo’s European adventure coincides with the Brexit referendum and the UK’s decision to leave the European Union. While this is the story of a road trip and blossoming relationship, it also holds a mirror up to some of the political debate at the time.

Performances will be on Thursday and Friday evenings, with a matinee on Saturday. Tickets available from https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/forfardramatic.
