ATC fund-raiser for outdoor activities
MORE than £350 was raised by staff, Cadets and committee of 2288 (Montrose) Squadron Air Training Corps at a recent fund-raising car wash.
The money was used to help pay for the cadets to go to PGL, an outdoor activity centre, for a weekend of adventure training activities.
The Squadron will organise further fund-raising activities to enable them to continue to provide a variety of activities for young people in the local area.
Activities available include flying, gliding, leadership training, adventure training and the Duke of Edinburgh’s award.
The organisation is a registered charity which is run by volunteers and is always looking for new members. Young people between the ages of 13 and 18 are welcome to go along to the Squadron to find out more about what they do and how to join.
You can attend parade evenings on Wednesdays from 6 to 9.30pm at Broomfield Road.
There is also a need for adult volunteers who have an interest in working with young people, either as staff on the Squadron or as part of the Civilian Committee which is responsible for fund-raising.
