Farmers Market on Saturday

STALLHOLDERS from the Angus Farmers’ Market will be at their regular spot in the High Street on Saturday (0ctober 6).

The market is celebrating seven years of trading in Montrose and organisers are grateful for the loyal support the community has shown, by turning out in all weathers.

Organisers welcome Pauline Ewart from Feed Me Full, a home baker based outside Glamis. Pauline is committed to using locally sourced ingredients in her range of savoury goods including quiches, pies and pasties.

Seasonal local vegetables are perfect for warming soups and mixed with the wonderful range of meats including Highland beef, wild boar and venison they can make a perfect stew or casserole.

Tom Mitchell and his sister, Camilla, from Puddledub Pork have built a reputation of producing pork and bacon of the highest quality. The philosophy at Puddledub is simple; each step is carefully done with care from conception to consumption.

As we approach the festive months organisers will introduce some new craft stalls to give ideas for gifts useful all year round. On Saturday Sheena Cowie will bring handmade shoulder and tote bags.

Regular stallholder Venetia from Eeksie Peeksie will also have lots of ideas from her fantastic farmyard ceramics and Vikki from Wax Teddies makes fun and decorative doorstops perfect for all ages.

Customers are reminded to bring their farmers market loyalty cards once you have six stamps it will be entered into a draw for £150 worth of market vouchers.

The Angus Farmers’ Markets can be found in the High Street, Montrose, on first Saturday of the month from 9am to 1pm.
