Welcomes North Sea investment
NANETTE Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East, has welcomed the news that investment in the North Sea is the highest for 30 years and rising, according to Oil and Gas UK.
Companies looking for offshore energy invested £11.4 billion in 2012.
Dr Milne said: “This is extremely good news for the economy of the North East and sends a clear message that the oil and gas sector has a bright future. The UK Conservative Government has brought forward tax measure to support investment in older North Sea oil and gas fields and I am pleased that that seems to be showing dividends.”
She added that the Government is committed to working to create the best environment for the sector to continue to grow and prosper.
