MONTROSE FC skipper Hugh Davidson says the future of the club is in good hands after the Mo young guns ended the season with a 1-0 win over Albion Rovers.

Hugh, speaking just before picking up three Player of the Year awards at the club's end of season trophy night, said it was great to end with a win.

"We wanted to pick up maximum points and clinch fifth place and our young boys did well.

"We have a good bunch of young lads here and the future is encouraging.

"The majority of the lads who played today will be here next season and the manager is looking to sign a few more.

"I hope he gets a couple of older heads in as well as we need a blend of youth and experience.

"There is no reason why we cannot do well next season and try to get out of this division.

"There is a great setup here and the signs are good for the future.

"The manager has done well since he has come in and we can go one step further next season.

"We almost made the play-offs this time round and the season finished too early for us.

"We had a bad spell around Christmas when we lost a few matches, but we came back strongly."
