Montrose open v Elgin

MONTROSE FC will open their league season at home to Elgin City on Saturday August 8.

The next week sees a trip to Cowdenbeath, who were just pipped for the Division Tree title last season, then the first derby of the campaign against Forfar, is at Links Park on August 22.

August ends with the long trip south to play relegated St
ranraer.

Over the festive season, Montrose have a Boxing Day trip up to Elgin, then they bring in 2010 with a home clash against Forfar on January 2.

The two derby visits to Forfar's Station Park are on October 17 and April 17. The season ends with another visit to Elgin on Saturday, May 1.

Montrose begin their competitive season with an Alba Challenge Cup tie away to Inverness CT on Saturday, July 25, then on August 1 they are up north again for a Co-Operative Insurance first round tie against Ross County.

The league fixture list is: August: 8 Elgin (h); 15 Cowdenbeath (a); 22 Forfar (h); 29 Stranraer (a).

September: 12 Albion (h); 19 E Stirling (h); 26 Berwick (a).

October: 3 Queen's Park (h); 10 Annan (a); 17 Forfar (a); 31 Cowdenbeath (h).

November: 7 Albion (a); 14 Stranraer (h); 21 Berwick (h).

December: 5 E Stirling (a); 12 Annan (h); 19 Queen's Park (a); 26 Elgin (a).

January: 2 Forfar (h); 9 Albion (h); 16 Stranraer (a); 23 E Stirling (h); 30 Berwick (a).

February: 6 Annan (a); 13 Queen's Park (h); 20 Elgin (h); 27 Cowdenbeath (a).

March: 6 Stranraer (h); 13 Albion (a); 20 E Stirling (a); 27 Berwick (h).

April: 3 Queen's Park (a); 10 Annan (h); 17 Forfar (a); 24 Cowdenbeath (h).

May: 1 Elgin (a).
