Roselea created some early chances then as both teams battled hard in the midfield, a tackle from Rae saw the first booking of the game.
Carnoustie broke down the left and as Whyte came over to cover, the ball was laid into the path of Reilly wh
o dinked it over the keeper to open the scoring.
Roselea pressed for an equaliser and it came after some good work between Rae and Watson when a quick one two led to Watson having a shot deflected into the net.
Just on half time a pass beat the Lea defence and Reilly put his snap shot just past the post.
The second half was hardly underway when a sharp pass to Clark saw him twist past Graham and as he drove towards goal he was brought down in the box.
This challenge resulted in Graham receiving a straight red card. Gates stepped up and slotted the penalty home to put Carnoustie back in front.
Roselea were now under a lot of pressure and even worse was to come, when after a foul by Whyte on Urquhart the referee gave Rae a second yellow for throwing the ball down.
Carnoustie were now dominating the game but were unable to create any clear cut chances, the best being a glancing header which hit the top of the bar.
Roselea sent on Fotheringham for Hood and Strachan for Kennedy in the hope of getting something from the game. Roselea were looking for the long ball through the middle and from one of these Watson drove into the box turned a defender and was brought down as he was about to shoot.
The referee however waved play on as both players lay on the ground, when play eventually stopped he gave Watson a yellow card after consulting with the linesman.
With Carnoustie now content to play time out, Roselea pushed forward and from another good run from Watson they won a corner. Strachan curled the ball into the box and Whyte headed downward only to see the ball come back of the post and the ever present Watson was first to react and slammed the ball home.
Roselea can take great credit for their battling display with nine men, while Carnoustie will feel they should have killed the game off.
