MONTROSE FC made the long journey home from Stranraer on Saturday, celebrating only their second league win of the season.
Manager Steven Tweed, who scored the clinching second goal, said: "There have been plenty of games we should have won this season. We have played far better than only two league wins would suggest.
"We played some good stuff at Stranraer, particularly as the pitch was like a beach in the second half.
"We were missing a few players and we had to have three 16-year-olds on the bench.
"Apart from Paul Tosh and myself we are a very young side.
"Paul scored a very good goal. We had a few chances from round about the edge of the box and the ball sat up perfectly for Paul's goal.
"I scored myself with a volley from the edge of the box. It was about time I got off the mark this season.
"In the last couple of games we have kept two clean sheets and that is a big thing for us.
"We have had a settled back four with Paul Tosh the focal point up front. Marek Tomana did well up front alongside him on Saturday."
The manager says that Stevie Nicholas will be touch and go for the visit to Albion Rovers on Saturday as he tries to shake off a calf strain.
John Gemmell and Daryl Nicol are both free from suspension for the trip to Coatbridge, although Daryl will be banned again for the visit of Forfar next Tuesday.
Montrose will play Albion just 11 days after facing them at Links Park.
"We certainly know all about each other. There has been nothing between the teams this season, with all three games so far finishing 0-0.
"Our video of the game showed the ball was clearly over the line when we played Albion last Tuesday, so we should have had a goal.
"We will go down there and give it our best shot which is what we always do.
"We then face Forfar at home on Tuesday. They have a lot of big games coming up as they go for the play-offs.
"Forfar have invested heavily in their squad and that is why they are in the position they are.
"For our part we want a strong finish to the season. We want to play a decent brand of football and turn our posession into goals."
