Home of Arbroath Football Club, Gayfield Park holds a special place in many a Lichtie’s heart.

The original Gayfield Park was built in 1920, but the current structure dates from 1925.

Its main claim to fame is its proximity to the North Sea, and is the closest football stadium to the sea in the whole of Europe.

It is so close that it is not unknown for the corner flag to be swamped by heavy seas.

Combined with 814 seats in the covered Gayfield Stand and the terraces, the ground holds a total of 6,600.

It is also home to the 36-0 Bar, which commemorates the famous victory by Arbroath over Aberdeen Bon Accord.
