At last week’s meeting of Montrose Rotary Club, president Hamish Watt welcomed this year’s two Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp awardees, Caitlin Anderson and Liam Swales, who gave a presentation on their experiences.
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards is a programme aimed at 15-to-18-year-olds.
Candidates are chosen who demonstrate leadership qualities which can be developed by attending the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards camps and being exposed to situations, designed to stretch the candidates physically and mentally, and hone their leadership skills.
The camps are situated at the Abernethy Outdoor Centre near Aviemore and last a week for each candidate.
Caitlin and Liam were presented with their certificates for completing the programme of activities at the camp by the club’s Rotary Youth Leadership Awards convener Clare Inglis.
