Local lad Luke Robertson (almost five), is joint owner with his grandfather, Sye, of ‘Grey Fergie’ SU5713.

And at the recent Angus Show on Luke cheerfully accepted the trophy for Best Restored Tractor, in person, from the Earl of Dalhousie. The tractor was new in 1950, and was sold by Reekie, Laurencekirk, to John Gordon, Pitreuchie Farm. About 10 years ago the tractor, by then in poor condition, was given to Sye as a Father’s Day present. Since then it has been lovingly restored by the family, until it is once again in showroom condition and has won a number of awards. Among those involved is Luke’s Uncle Michael, who works with GSK. Luke will attend Lochside Primary School at the start of the new session.
