A CHEQUE for over £3,000 has been donated to victims of the Haitian earthquake disaster by local school pupils.
The cash was raised from a collective dress as you please day which was held in all the schools and nurseries in the Montrose area.
The fundraiser was organised thanks to 11-year-old Alex Blackburn, a pupil at Lochside Primary.
Alex arranged a bake sale at her school, which proved so popular she decided to get other schools involved.
A cheque for £3,279 was given to the British Red Cross.
