Best friends joined together to raise nearly £2,000 for a well deserving mental health charity.
Brooke explained: “SAMH is a great charity that do lots, providing great support for adults suffering from mental health issues.”
Seonaid Mason, supporter care fund-raiser for SAMH said: “We are very grateful to Brooke and Holly for raising both awareness and much needed funds for SAMH.
“Every day we work to prevent suicide, challenge stigma and promote good mental health and well-being; it is thanks to support like this that we are able to continue our vital work and support people in Scotland with mental health problems get the right help when they need it most.”
The adventurous 20-year-olds, former Arbroath High School pupils, set up a cocktail party in Webmors, Arbroath, during the summer.
“We used some of the money to put towards a skydive,” Holly said. “Which meant we could raise more money through sponsorship for that.”
Taking to the skies in November, the pair climbed to 10,000 feet before launching themselves out of the plane.
“It was amazing, we got to go in the plane together, which made it better and less scary,” Brooke admitted.
“It didn’t have a door and there was black tape everywhere, we were worried the plane wouldn’t make it!
“It was such a brilliant experience.”
The girls would like to thank Skydive St Andrews as well as their friends and family for the support they have provided throughout their fundraising efforts.
