20th Angus Book Awards

Reading for the 2015 Angus Book Award is now underway with the winning author being announced at Montrose Town Hall in May.

Now in its 20th year, the annual event is aimed at promoting reading for enjoyment by teenagers in Angus.

This year the shortlist features novels by two authors new to the Angus Book Award and the return of two previous short-listed authors, Alan Gibbons and Chris Priestley.

‘Raining Fire’ by Gibbons is a thriller about gun crime and the consequences it can have. Priestley’s ‘Through Dead Eyes’ is a haunting tale set in both a contemporary and age old Amsterdam. Debut novel ‘Infinite Sky’ by C. J Flood is a tragedy involving travellers. The final title ‘Cross My Heart’ by Carmen Reid is inspired by real people, real places and real events of World War Two.

The winner will be announced at the award ceremony at Montrose Town Hall on May 19.
