THE 6TH Montrose Brownies ended their year by camping in the gardens of Dunninald Castle. The rain held off and after pitching the last tent they enjoyed singing around a campfire and toasting marshmallows before heading to bed.
In the morning they tried out the new Children’s Trail and had a sneak viewing inside the house to see some of the rooms which are open to the public.
They are pictured here in the Porch Room bedroom displaying embroidered baby clothes and toys belonging to previous inhabitants.
Some of the dresses would have been worn by baby boys or girls and in such cases the boys would have worn the buttons down the front, whilst the girls wore them at the back.
One cross-stitch sampler was sewn by a little girl, Elizabeth Henderson, aged only six.
Dunninald is open daily (except Mondays) until Sunday, July 31.
