The local Marie Curie Fund-raising Group is delighted with all the support given to make its recent Ceilidh such a great success.

The impressive skills of all who ventured onto the dance floor are still being talked about, as is the ability of compere Joe Wishart. The group is delighted that Joe has offered his long-term support to the charity.

The fantastic total of £5,049 was raised to support the nursing care of the terminally ill at home.

In addition, the Daffodil Appeal raised £2,390.70.

At the recent AGM the following committee members were appointed: David Conran-Smith (secretary), Helen Thomson (chair), Heather Goudie (deputy), Kip Fraser (treasurer), Kathleen Stewart, Anne Walker, Muriel Davie, Marion Grant, Anne Lashmar and Gail Clark (group members).

Preparations are now being made to enjoy a ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ in June. On-going support for the townsfolk will be greatly appreciated.
