GORDON School of Dancing pupils are making the final preparations for their annual trip to deliver some Christmas cheer to orphans in Trinidad.
The school has made the journey every year for the last 10 years since they were first asked to perform at the annual St Andrew's Ball in the country's capital, Port of Spain, by some of the British ex-pat community.
Since then it has become a tradition that the pupils visit schools and orphanages in the area to distribute gifts of clothes, toys and games.
Last year they took over their largest ever consignment, more than 3,000 items donated by businesses across the north east.
They also buy the children treats such as pizza and ice cream which would normally be too expensive for them to buy themselves.
There is still time to donate to the appeal before the youngsters embark on their 10-day journey next week.
Anyone wishing to do so can give donations to school principal Robina Addison at the Printshop, at 149 High Street.
