A life-saving service

There will be a coffee morning to support First Responders on Saturday (April 11), in the Old and St Andrews Hall from 10 a.m. to noon.

First Responders are one of the key projects funded by the St John Angus and Dundee Area.

Volunteers take calls from the Scottish Ambulance Service when a member of the public suffers a suspected heart attack or similar incident. They are equipped to use a defibrillator, give CPR and apply oxygen therapy until the arrival of the Ambulance Service Paramedics.

There are currently 24 volunteers in Angus who train monthly and are involved in fund-raising to support the purchase of vital equipment.

Any items for the raffle, bottle stall and home baking would be gratefully received or come along on the day. Contact Melanie Cargill, 01674 677859.

To learn more contact the co-ordinator, Bill Spence at volunteer2go@btinternet.com or by telephone at 01382 350553.
