Last year, Ishbel Weir raised a fantastic £22,000-plus for the Multiple Sclerosis Therapy (Tayside) Ltd centre, Peddie Street, Dundee.

She did this by means of two fund-raisers, a golf AM-AM, and a masked ball.

Ishbel told us: “This year, I am only running one event, the Corporate Charity Golf AM-AM on June 21, to continue raising awareness of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO), for people affected by Multiple Sclerosis.”

The main difference this year is the addition of stunning prizes for holes in one.

Ishbel will again be raising funds for the Therapy Centre - last year’s AM-AM raised £13,077.

She continued: “Running two high profile events last year within three weeks of each other was hugely successful, but in retrospect was a little ambitious on my part as it took its toll health wise – that said it was well worth it.”

Because of the publicity that Ishbel’s events generated, there has been an increase in the number of people using the Peddie Street facility.

Ishbel added: “Over and above this, an additional 350 people across the UK, that I am aware of, now know about HBO and the fact that there are 65 independently run chambers across the UK and Ireland, all of which are based on the pioneer chamber at Peddie Street.

“These 350 people have been able to access chambers in their respective areas, which is fabulous.”

Preparations are well under way for the Corporate Charity Golf AM-AM on
June 21.

Lessons learned from last year will be put into operation, in particular changes which will allow those who have travelled long distances not to have to hang around for the whole day.

The event is open to teams of four (men, ladies and juniors), at a cost of £200 per team. First prize is £400 worth of SGU vouchers,
and trophies.

For an ace on the 12th, the main prize is £5,000 of travel vouchers; one on the 16th wins a three-night stay for two people at 5* Praia del Rey Marriott Golf and Beach Resort in Portugal - your stay includes half-board accommodation, three rounds of golf, flights and car hire; and an ace at the third wins a golf break for four at the 5* Marriott Forest of Arden comprising a two-night stay, half board and two rounds of golf. This includes the
Arden course where you will play the infamous par three, 18th hole.

There will also be a silent auction at the AM-AM.
