THIS Sunday (February 13), an African Songs of Praise will be held in Hillside church at 6.30pm.
The service will celebrate the involvement of many people in Montrose and district in supporting the projects of Nyumbani (meaning ‘home’) in Nairobi which worked successfully to help improve the lives and chances of survival of some 4,000 orphans infected with or affected by the HIV virus and their families.
At the end of February three local volunteers - Alison Stedman, Tracy Park and Jim Coull - will travel to Nyumbani as part of a work team. They will take with them any proceeds of the collection which will be made at the service.
Music on Sunday evening will be under the direction of Arthur Balfour. Refreshments will be served at the end of the service and everyone is welcome. Please come along and enjoy the rhythmic harmonies of African song along with some of our own traditional favourite hymns.
