Angus daredevils were among the fearless bunch who helped raise £9000 for Marie Curie by hurling themselves into a 140 foot abseil.

The annual event off the top of the University of Dundee’s Tower Building attracts fundraisers from all over, but a great number of the 48 adrenaline junkies were from Angus.

The £9000 realised will fund over 450 hours of free professional nursing care at home in the DD postcode for people with a range of terminal conditions.

Charity patron Petra McMillan from Carnoustie, who launched the abseil six years ago, said: “This event makes a huge difference to local families and we really appreciate the great efforts our abseilers go to - dressing up and driving half way across the country with their own family and friends to support them.”
