The third Angus Heritage Week will take place across the county will once again celebrate Angus’ unique people, places, natural environment, culture and traditions.

The week of heritage-related activities and special events opens with a family history day at Dundee & Angus College in Arbroath and also features the annual Doors Open Days on the weekend of September 6 and 7.

This year, there are several new additions to the Doors Open Days programme, including Dunninald Castle’s gardens near Montrose.

Councillor Alex King, Depute Provost of Angus said: “Doors Open Days is an unmissable opportunity to find out what goes on in places which are rarely open to the public. However, this is only one aspect of the celebrations. Angus Heritage Week is also about our county’s families, rich or poor, rural, town or coastal dwellers – the songs they sang, the stories they told, and the traditions that have been passed down the generations.”

Angus Heritage Week runs from September 5 to 12.
