ANGUS Campbell, a year five pupil at Lathallan School, emerged as one of the top players at the school’s inaugural rugby sevens tournament.
The 12-year-old, from Montrose, was named Junior Player of the Tournament at the recent event which saw 18 teams compete in Under-18s and P7s tournaments.
The competition was attended by Scottish Rugby internationals Richie Vernon, Moray Low and Ruaridh Jackson who presented the prizes in front of the hundreds of people who gathered at the Johnshaven school to watch the two tournaments.
Former Scottish Rugby international Alan Lawson and Linda Lawson, daughter of the late Bill McLaren, enjoyed the day along with Sir Moir Lockhead, incoming chairman of Scottish Rugby Union.
