An Angus business scooped a top award at a prestigious awards ceremony in Edinburgh.
Having won Best Home Business at the Angus Business Awards at Carnoustie in October 2015, Montrose-based Angus Log Cabins has gone on to win the 2016 Best Home Business at the Scotlands Business Awards Grand Final in the city last week.
The event on August 28 saw more than 400 finalists from across Scotland representing Angus, Perthshire, Fife, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Angus Log Cabins is owned and managed by Scott and Charlene Dickson, who specialise in solid log cabins, summer houses, BBQ houses, sheds, children’s play houses and play sets with bespoke buildings also being an option.
Scott said: “We’re delighted. We’re really chuffed. It’s an amazing achievement. We can’t believe we won.
“We would like to say a massive thank you to all our customers past and present.”
The grand final stage is entirely optional but many winners like to find out how their regional scores would stack up nationally.
A spokesperson for Scotlands Business Awards said: “It’s a huge achievement for all of the regional winners to have made it to the grand final.
“Grand finalists have come through the hundreds of nominees in the regional award shows.
“This is one of the toughest business competitions to win.
“Grand finalists have made it through two rounds of public voting, including two mystery shopper tests to make it to the grand final.
“Over 100 businesses fail to make it through from every region.
“The awards evening celebrated the work of small independent and family businesses whose work dominated the categories.”
