Young people in Angus are developing skills for work and life through participation in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme.
Angus is the second highest authority in Scotland for the number of awards gained per young person against the percentage of population.
The number of young people in Angus who have completed their bronze and silver awards has doubled since 2009.
Last year over 170 young people were awarded their bronze certificates and 13 travelled to Holyrood Palace to receive their gold award from HRH Duke of Edinburgh.
A spokeswoman said: “This significant achievement is thanks to the many volunteers and leaders in Angus whose energy, expertise and commitment encourages young people to participate and complete their awards.”
The authority plans to build in its success in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards, and was recently presented with its renewed licence from the charity.
