ACF Scotland Hockey Championships ACF

STAFF Sergeant Laura Balneaves and Bombardier Cloe Dewar (reserve) were members of the Angus Dundee Battalion Hockey Team that won the ACF Scotland Hockey Championships at Bells Sport Centre in Perth last weekend.

The team won all five of its league games and defeated the team from Glasgow and Lanarkshire Battalion 3–2 in a close and exciting final.

Tug o’ War Championships

Bombardier Nathan Wood and L. Bombardier Johnnie Simpson were members of the Angus Dundee Battalion team that took part in the ACF Scotland Tug o’ War Championships held at the North Inch, Perth, last weekend.

The young and inexperienced team acquitted themselves well during the competition but unfortunately did not win any of their pulls.

Field Gun Competition

Bombardier Ruaridh Rankin and Gunner Scott McBain were members of the Battalion field gun team that defeated the Air Training Corps and the Sea Cadet Corps in the recent Inter-Service Field Gun competition.

The competition took place at Dens Park, Dundee, during half–time at Dundee FC’s home games, the final being held during the game against Partick Thistle.

Poppy Appeal 2011

The Troop has received a letter of thanks along with a certificate from the joint Poppy Appeal conveners to mark the amount the Cadets contributed in the door-to-door and street collection in 2011.

The Cadets collected over £690 towards the magnificent total of £15,145 collected in Montrose and District.

The Cadets thank the citizens of Montrose for raising so much for this very deserving cause.
