Awards seek nominations

APPLICATIONS are now being accepted for this year’s SMK Campaigner Awards, which seek to recognise local campaigners who tackle issues at home and abroad.

The awards are run by the Sheila McKechnie Foundation (SMK), the UK’s only charity dedicated to connecting, informing and supporting campaigners and winners will attend a special ceremony hosted by Channel 4 newscaster and SMK patron Jon Snow.

The SMK Campaigner Awards celebrate the outstanding contribution that a new generation of campaigners is making towards achieving social, environmental and economic justice.

Winners are also helped to develop effective and successful campaigns through a tailored package of support.

Nominations and applications can be made on SMK’s website at Applications before 1pm on June 10.
