LOCAL author Joan Christie has again committed Montrosians’ memories to print with her latest book to raise money for charity.

‘More Montrosians’ Remember’ is a follow-up to her successful anthology ‘Montrosians Remember’, which also featured reminiscences of the town as it was in past decades.

A prolific non-fiction writer, Joan has a number of books in Montrose Library covering a wide range of subjects - from the local history of Montrose to that of her own family.

Contributors’ recollections cover a variety of periods from the 1940s through to the 1980s and its diverse subjects include Arbuthnott’s boat builder, life in the Rover Scouts, tattie picking and local landmarks and hang-outs including cafe’s and dance halls.

Copies of ‘More Montrosians Remember’, costing £5, are available now from Hogg’s newsagent on the High Street or from Joan herself by calling 01674 671340. All funds raised will be donated to schizophrenia research.
