Calling all council house tenants and licensed premises!

There’s still time to enter Angus Council’s Beautiful Angus Garden Competition.

The closing date for entries into an event that celebrates the efforts of the brightest, best and most beautiful garden spaces that Angus has to offer is Friday, July 1.

The competition highlights the efforts of the council’s most committed, enthusiastic and talented gardeners for more than 60 years.

The entry date for Angus primary schools and nurseries passed at the end of May and we look forward to seeing the green shoots of our gardeners of the future.

But there is still an opportunity for council tenants and licensees to enter and cultivate their own chances of being a garlanded winner.

The competition is open to people of all ages and abilities and all sizes of gardens - from window boxes upwards.

Photographs are not required when you enter this year. Please contact Angus Council if you would like any tips or advice.

Judging will be carried out by Angus Council Parks Services Officers and Community Judges during July and feedback will be made available to all entrants afterwards.

Tenants and licensed premises will be judged according to cleanliness, use of colour, integration of plants, use of space, innovation and sustainability.

Prizes will be presented at an awards ceremony in late September.
