Canadian singer and songstress Amelia Curran is kicking off her UK tour in Montrose in January.
As part of eight shows promoting her new album, Curran will be playing at Montrose Folk Club, held at The Links Hotel, on Thursday, January 29.
The Halifax, Nova Scotia, songstress says she is excited to be heading back to the UK with the release of her new album ‘They Promised You Mercy’, which is due to be released on January 26 on Blue Rose Records.
She has already received support from the likes of BBC Radio Scotland’s Iain Anderson.
Curran will also be playing at the prestigious Celtic Connections in Glasgow on January 30.
Her acclaimed 2009 album ‘Hunter Hunter’ won her the much sought after Juno Award for Best Roots and Traditional Album. With her 2013 album, ‘Spectators’, Curran returned. The Telegraph’s Martin Chilton described it as “a strong, quietly forceful album”, whilst Maverick Magazine awarded it four stars.
Tickets for Curran’s Montrose gig are £7.50 and are available at www.linkshotelmusic.com
