HILLSIDE man David McMullan has presented more than £1,000 to the Ninewells Cancer Campaign after organising a charity concert in Aberdeen.

The show, staged in the Aberdeen Arts Centre last month, was run by his production company, That’s Showbiz, specifically for the fund.

Based in Aberdeen, the company specialises in producing high quality revue shows while covering all areas of the musical theatre discipline.

Since 2009, when the company was established, all money raised from each show has been, and will continue to be, donated to charity. Entitled ‘Vocal Showcase’, the show raised £1,115.

David was inspired to make the donation after a friend was diagnosed with cancer and received support from the Ninewells Cancer Campaign. After looking into the charity more, he discovered that it makes no charge for it time, effort and research and he organised the event as a “thank you”.

The show was well received and the funds raised were the profit after the required £3,000 theatre costs were met.

David’s donation was accepted by campaign vice-chairman Aubrey Wood.
