The Royal British Legion Scotland (RBLS) branch has had a boost of cash after three fund-raising events at the weekend.
A triple challenge of teams from the RBLS, Montrose Emergency Services Group (MESG) and Montrose Academy took place in the clubrooms on Friday night.
The winners were the RBLS team, Montrose Academy came in second and MESG came third.
A sum in excess of £200 was raised for the RBLS club funds.
The teams were: RBLS - Dave Gillespie, Mike Neish, David Paton, Michael Murely, Bill Mitchell, Angus Rodden, Liz Neish and Shirley Rodden: MESG - Ally Hutchison, Dylan Constantine, Robert Macdonald, Steve Valentine, Jackie Drummond and Alan Drummond; Montrose Academy - Christopher Milne, Kelsey Sturrock, Stacey Ellis, Christine Buchan and Helen Campbell.
A coffee morning held in the Columba Hall on Saturday morning raised £375 for the Social Club, and a fund-raising dance on Saturday night raised more than £800 .
An RBLS spokesperson said: “Many thanks are expressed to all those who have supported us with their various donations.”
The next event will be the next Sunday lunch on May 31 from 12 noon to 2 pm. The menu will be steak pie or ham salad, followed by an apple slice and Ice Cream or ice cream and peach coulis, with tea or coffee and biscuits. Bookings should be arranged with Sadie Gillespie on 07806444261 by May 27.
