Montrose Inner Wheel held a cheque presentation at Taylor’s Auction Rooms for the proceeds of their fashion show to ‘The Friends of Stracathro Hospital’.

The fashion show was held last month at the auction house with models from Chique boutique of Montrose gracing the catwalk.

More than £2,500 was raised for The Friends of Stracathro group.

Ruth Leslie Melville, chairman of the group, said: “We are deeply indebted to the ladies of Montrose Inner Wheel, the models from Chique and the Taylors of Taylor’s Auctions for staging a wonderful fashion show in the auction hall.

“The turnout for the show was tremendous, proof of which can be appreciated by the incredible sum of £2,814 which was raised during the evening.

“Our thanks go to all involved in staging this super evening of glamour.

“The £2,814 will be added to the money that we are amassing at present, as we prepare for the development of the new palliative care department being worked on just now.

“Our patients, who are coping with some very unpleasant conditions, deserve the very best.

“Without our help, the new facility will be very good; but with The Friends of Stracathro Hospital eager to raise the bar, the hospital will be exceptional.

“It is very important that patients, their families and staff spend this time in as stress-free an environment as possible.

“In order for us to continue with the work of enhancing our very special local hospital, we need your help.
