Celtic rockers The Dangleberries are set to take to the stage in Montrose later this summer.

The band has a growing reputation as one of Scotland’s best live acts and will play at the Town Hall on Saturday, August 30, after a host of festival appearances throughout the UK.

They last played in the North East as the support act for Simple Minds at Stonehaven’s Hogmanay celebrations and are set to headline a similar event this year for 5,500 fans in Ellon.

The band’s appearance marks another big name act for Montrose with a sell-out gig by rock legends Status Quo just two weeks ago.

A spokesman from North East Promotions, which is hosting the gig, said: “Following the very positive response to our Big Country gig we are delighted to again bring another top quality act to the Town Hall”.

The band will perform songs from there three albums to date.

They are also known for some very interesting cover versions using a unique sound.

Local bands Heidrum and Emerald Sunday will be supporting The Dangleberries.

Tickets are £12 and are available from www.eventbrite.co.uk or the North East Promotions Facebook
