Over the festive period there will be changes to some household bin collections in Angus.

On December 25 to 28 and January 1 to 4 inclusive, there will be no bin collections.

From December 24 to January 6 (inclusive) there will be no uplifts of bulky items.

Households in affected areas have been contacted directly. Rescheduled collection days can also be viewed online. If this is not possible contact ACCESSLine.

If you are getting a real Christmas tree this year, don’t forget you can recycle it by placing it inside your green bin on your scheduled green bin day by 7 am.

Please cut up your tree after removing its base and decorations then place it inside your green bin. Angus Council is unable to collect any trees left at the side of the bin.

You can also take Christmas trees to any recycling centre. The sites will be closed December 25 - 27 (inclusive) and January 1 - 3 (inclusive).

Recycling centres will be open 9.15 - 5pm Monday - Friday and 9.15 am - 4 pm at weekends.

All centres will be shut Friday 25 December to Sunday, December 27 (inclusive) and Friday, January 1 to Sunday, January 3 (inclusive).

There will be no uplifts carried out during the period Thursday, December 24 to Wednesday, January 6 (inclusive). Requests during this period will be accepted, however the uplift service will resume from January 7, 2016.

Public toilets will be closed on December 25, 26 and 27 and January 1, 2 and 3 2016. Automatic public convenience will operate in Carnoustie.

It is not possible to collect side waste, with the exception of where the council has not carried out Friday or Monday food waste collections or where it has cancelled the collection due to extreme weather conditions.

Any disruptions to services due to adverse weather will be available on the council’s Twitter or Facebook pages.
