Club funding bid successful

MONTROSE Bridge Club has been successful in winning backing for a grant of more than £3,000 from Angus Council.

At Tuesday’s infrastructure services committee, councillors were recommended to approve the application for £3,768.48 which will allow the club to buy new technology to improve members’ skill levels and support new members in their learning and development.

In his report, infrastructure services director Eric Lowson said: “This is a first time applicant although they have been in existence since 1950 and have over 60 members. This project will bring the club into line with others as well as improving members’ ability and attracting new members.”
