Montrose and Stonehaven coastguard rescue teams were paged today (Wednesday, July 18), to the Rocks of Solitude, Edzell, to the report of a dog over a cliff. Teams recovered the dog from the River North Esk, uninjured, and returned it to its thankful owners.
Members of the public are reminded not to attempt a self rescue of any family pets or animals. Please stay back from the edge and dial 999.
With water levels high in rivers and rain continuing to fall, river banks, etc., are very soft and slippy.
