THE SUN shone on the Borrowfield Community Group Gala Day, which was held recently at the Borrowfield Community Centre.

Hundreds of local people turned out to support the event which boasted a wide variety of attractions for young and old alike including bouncy castles, chairoplanes and many charity stalls.

There was also great interest generated by a display of birds of prey, which were tame and could be handled. A display of Scottish country dancing was followed by a Beat the Goalie competition, pet show, children’s fancy dress competition and magic show. The care boot sale also enjoyed a good turnout of more than 20 cars.

The raffle, featuring a first prize of a garden bench donated by Alistair Morgan, was also well supported.

A total of more than £600 was made which will be divided between local community projects and Yorkhill Hospital.
