THE WINNERS of a successful competition run by local community police officers and the Review visited Montrose Police Office on Saturday to collect their prizes.

As part of their winter cycle safety initiative Constables Ally Hutchison and Tracy Brown, with support from local schools and businesses, offered 12 sets of front and rear bike lights as well as cash prizes which ran in December.

Constable Brown said: “I’d like to thank everyone who took part in December’s bike light competition. The number of entrants we had for the competition was fantastic as has been the support we have received for the initiative from the local primary schools and Montrose Academy, who are all working together to keep our children safe on their bikes.

“Thanks also to Mr Bikes, Hill Street, Montrose and Tesco who kindly provided the vouchers for first, second and third prizes.”

The winners of the competition were: 1, Richie Coull – lights and a £25 voucher for Mr Bikes; 2, Stella Simpson – lights and a £15 Tesco voucher, 3, Matthew Laird – lights and a £10 Tesco voucher.

The other bike lights winners were: Tori Barclay, Alexander Norman, Jack Church, Sam Paton, Ciaran McGeachy, Caitlyn Clelland, Morgan Fraser, Lydon Coull, Aiden Hutchison.
