The MONTROSE and Brechin groups of Contact the Elderly have been entertained to afternoon tea by the ladies of Brechin Inner Wheel for their annual Day of Service.
The date was moved from January, and the day was sunny with daffodils blooming.
Over 30 elderly guests, volunteers and hosts gathered in the beautiful setting of Burn House, Edzell where they enjoyed making new friends, a roaring fire, and a delicious tea.
Contact the Elderly caters for over-75s who live alone and do not have much social contact. Volunteers take elderly guests to afternoon tea at a different host’s house each month, and occasionally there are outings courtesy of people like the ladies of the Inner Wheel.
The charity is hoping to hit the charts in June with the launch of a single ‘See Yourself’.
Anchor, England’s largest provider of not for profit care and housing for the over-55s has created The Anchor Community Band from among its customers. All the profits from the sale of the song will go to Contact the Elderly for its work throughout the UK. Lyrics are from CtE members as well as Anchor residents.
The song is available for pre-release orders from April 22 on Amazon; from June 2, it will be available to download digitally from iTunes and on June 3, it will be available as a single from Amazon.
