Costumes on show at museum

MONTROSE Museum will launch an exhibition of two centuries of costume on Saturday (November 12).

From the high waists of the Regency period and the time of Jane Austen, to the crinoline dresses of the Victorian years with their impossibly tiny waists, and the often extravagant fashions of the present day, there is something for everyone.

And there will be an illustrated talk by Fiona Scharlau, ‘Threads of Time’ at 2pm on November 16, which explains the dating of old photographs using fashion.

For details please contact Rachel Benvie, curator on 01674 673232. Montrose Museum is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
