Could your group get £2,000?

THE PEOPLE of Montrose could land a share of £86,000 thanks to the Co-operative.

Following the launch of the Big Community Vote scheme member customers can now vote for local groups to get a share of the money.

Local charities and community groups are encouraged to nominate themselves now and demonstrate the value of their work in Scotland to be in the running for a cash boost of £2,000.

In Scotland £18,000 has been set aside for groups with £2,000 to be allocated to a community group in each of The Co-operative’s nine Scottish membership areas from a UK-wide national pot of £86,000.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, April 15, and voting will close on July 31. The winning groups will be announced at the end of August.
