Aberdeenshire Council is seeking feedback on extending its Pressured Area Designation that restricts the sale of council houses.
Pressured Area Designation was introduced to help protect the supply of affordable rented housing in areas where there are high housing needs and shortages of social rented housing. It aims to ensure that there are enough affordable rented properties in high demand areas for people who need them.
Aberdeenshire Council was granted Pressured Area Designation for a number of settlements for a period of five years which comes to an end on November 5. Consultation, which will run until August 9, will take place with council tenants and the wider community. A questionnaire is available at www.ibp.eu.com/pressuredareadesignation.
