Angus MP Mike Weir has urged his constituents to make use of a new online complaints tool to combat nuisance calls.
He backs a Private Members’ Bill to tackle this increasing problem and says all avenues should be used to tackle them.
The new online complaints tool has been launched by Which? and can be accessed through their website http://www.which.co.uk/campaigns/nuisance-calls-and-texts/
Mr Weir said: “To tackle the scourge of nuisance calls it is vital that they be reported. However, only around 17 per cent of consumers complain. This does not reflect the true scale of the problem since all of us receive numerous such calls each week, whether we are registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) or not.”
