Trail of vandalism in town at weekend

THERE was an unusually large spate of vandalisms in town over the weekend, involving, vehicles and also domestic property.

Officers at Montrose Police Office are appealing for information to help trace the person(s) responsible for a series of vandalisms to parked vehicles in Bow Butts, Murray Street, Kincardine Street and Orange Lane at the weekend.

Some time between 11pm on Saturday and 7.30am the next day, the following vehicles were vandalised:

A Nissan car parked in Bow Butts was damaged by persons removing the rear registration plate, rear window wiper arm and aerial.

Both wing mirrors of an Audi car were kicked off while it was parked in Murray Street.

A Volkswagen car parked in Kincardine Street was damaged when its offside wing mirror was kicked off.

Two Ford cars were damaged while parked in Orange Lane. The offside wing mirrors of each were kicked off.

Officers are also appealing for information in relation to two other incidents.

About 4.20am on Sunday, a window of the Chiropody Clinic in Murray Street was smashed by unknown means.

Also, overnight on Saturday, a large number of solar lights and a plant pot were removed from a garden in Newhame Road, taken into the street, and smashed.
