A PARTY atmosphere prevailed at Montrose Day Care Centre on Friday when service users held their own celebration for the Royal wedding.
They were able to view the day’s television coverage in style on a large-screen television, on loan for the day from local business Robert Ritchie, before drinking a Champagne toast to the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and tucking in to a mouthwatering buffet, complete with red white and blue cupcakes, prepared by cook Marie Littlejohn.
The day’s nuptials also sparked some reminiscences about previous Royal occasions.
Centre manager Irene Mitchell said the day had been a resounding success.
She said: “We’d like to say a big thank you to Robert Ritchie for the loan of the television as without that everyone wouldn’t have been able to watch the wedding together. Usually everyone’s doing different things so it was quite nice to have everybody gathered round.
“One or two have been talking about their memories of the Queen’s wedding and a few of the ladies got dressed up for the occasion. The staff have all worked very hard to put this together and everyone has really enjoyed it.”
