DRAWING IN is the title of the latest exhibition at the Kinblethmont Gallery, near Arbroath, which opened on Saturday.
It features the work of Pat Donachie, John Johnstone, Regine Lafaye, William Philp, Rebecca Westguard, Susan Winton and Kirsten Harris.
Kirsten was commissioned by Edinburgh Zoo to paint three pictures of its famous new pandas as gifts for the Chinese Government last year. Specialising in wildlife and animal pieces, she has a unique style that was developed during her visits to Japan.
She said: “The painting was a great challenge. I did not want to do ‘cute’ and I wanted to avoid ‘black and white’; this was a very important event that required months of concentrated work.”
The first picture is in the Chinese embassy in Edinburgh, the second in London.
The third is displayed for sale at the Kinblethmont Gallery in their late autumn mixed exhibition which runs until November 18 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
