Duck race to raise hall funds

MARYKIRK Village Hall committee will be running a duck race on the North Esk next weekend in aid of the hall’s upkeep.

The race will be divided into adults and children, with the adults’ race offering a £100 first prize, £75 second prize, £50 third prize and a fourth prize of £25. There will also be five £10 prizes for fifth place as well as a wooden spoon.

The duckling race is open to all children who are invited to enter their own ducks for free.

Prizes on offer include a £20 Argos voucher for first place, a £10 for second and £5 for third.

Ducks can be handed in before race day, Sunday, June 26, to Stacy Clark who can be contacted on 01674 840134 or Kim Tait.

Late entries will be taken from 10.45 to 11am on the day itself at the bench, Marykirk Village Hall.

The race will run from 11.30am to 1.30pm.

All proceeds go towards the hall’s the refurbishment and continued improvement. The hall committee welcomes people, ideas and interests to all its meetings and the next meeting will be on Tuesday, June 21, at 7pm.
