ANGUS Council has outlined plans to encourage the arts, culture and creativity in the county.
A recent meeting of the authority’s education committee received an overview of the council’s response to an action plan published by the Scottish Government.
The plan’s aim is to develop the role and impact of creativity within and across the curriculum.
The meeting heard that an Angus response has been prepared by a short-life working group identifying how the arts, cultural and creativity can be taken forward in the county.
A report before the committee highlighted the success of the Angus expressive arts team which was recently been praised by an external research agency on behalf of Creative Scotland.
The successful use of the arts to support specific improvement priorities in relation to ethos, parental involvement, literacy and health and well-being, was mentioned specifically by the agency.
