THERE is another drop in the number of Angus pupils excluded from school.
During 2011/12, there was a drop of nine per cent in exclusions from secondary school and 20 per cent from primaries.
There were 75 exclusions from primaries and 310 from secondaries, with pupils excluded from only 17 of 53 primaries.
There continues to be a year on year fall in the numbers of pupils excluded.
Education convener Sheena Welsh said: “I welcome the downward trend which reflects our commitment to preventing exclusion and to address the needs of vulnerable pupils.
“We will continue to support schools in preventing exclusions and seeking alternatives to exclusion for pupils in their care, while ensuring a positive learning environment for the majority of well-behaved pupils.”
